Eating dinner out in Baltimore can help Israel!

JEWISH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AROUND THE UNITED STATES LAUNCH
“AMERICA EATS FOR ISRAEL” FUNDRAISING EFFORT
FOR ISRAELI VICTIMS OF TERROR

50 High Schools Nationwide Mobilize To Support Israeli Brothers and Sisters

BALTIMORE, MD – November 25, 2004 – America Eats for Israel, a project organized and run completely by high school students to raise funds for Israeli victims of terror, announces today that – kosher restaurants around the United States will donate 10% of March 21, 2005 gross revenues to Almagor, an Israel-based terror victims organization.

America Eats for Israel plans to promote the participants by advertising heavily in their respective communities.

Following the success of last year’s Baltimore Eats for Israel event, in which Baltimore-area kosher restaurants donated single day revenues to Israeli causes, students of Yeshivat Rambam in Baltimore decided that much more could be done by expanding the program.

“As a result of last year’s success we felt it was our responsibility to do more,” said Avi Goldberg, project coordinator, America Eats for Israel. “By expanding the project we are providing all American Jews with an opportunity to support Israel.”

Today, committees from more than 50 schools nationwide are organizing and planning the event which utilizing multiple databases has targeted every kosher restaurant in the United States.

“We at Fuchs Mizrachi are thrilled to be able to join and contribute to this new national effort on behalf of Israel!” added Rabbi Pinchas Hecht, Head of School, Fuchs Mizrachi, Cleveland, Ohio.

A website, has been created to support the initiative. It contains resources enabling all parties involved to access information about project details, and participating schools and restaurants. A state-by-state listing of participating restaurants will be updated regularly as restaurants join the effort.
