Our goal is to promote environmental preservation throughout The Associated system and explore opportunities to ensure our present and future operations and practices are as ecologically friendly as fiscally possible."

In an effort to analyze The ASSOCIATED’s current state of "Greenness" and develop plans for increasing the sustainability of the organization’s corporate operations and infrastructure, a task force was formed to gather information, analyze current status, and make recommendations for improving the sustainability of operations. The task force was made up of representatives from the various disciplines within The Associated and includes marketing, information technologies, facilities, operations, and campaign.

The process began by looking at current operations with the goal of identifying existing sustainable(green) practices. Once these were identified, we developed a list of additional areas for improvement. We only focused on the Krieger building and Associated corporate operations. Once The Associated plan is complete we could use this study as a template for analysis for all of the agencies’ operations and practices.

In addition to identifying existing and future opportunities, through our research we have identified that the development of corporate awareness and a culture that understands "sustainable practices" is critical to the success of these new initiatives. This awareness must be accomplished by obtaining formal corporate buy in from the highest levels of the organization and leadership.

Once these policies and ideas are accepted by upper management and leadership, the task force will focus on educating all personnel of what sustainable practices are and what it means to increase our corporate sustainability.
