The State of Israel’s safety, security and prosperity is of utmost importance to the Jewish community of Greater Baltimore. Our connection to Israel must remain strong and constant. It is the Baltimore Jewish Council’s role to find ways of educating, informing and raising awareness in the Jewish and general community about Israel and about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. We also mobilize the community to take action for Israel when we need to engage our elected officials and others on the relevant political issues and policies. These actions and programs usually emanate from the BJC’s Israel Advocacy and Awareness Committee.
This is the place for those who live in the Greater Baltimore area to learn more about Israel and related global concerns, to take action on behalf of a safe and secure Israel and to be involved in the pursuit of lasting and just peace in the region. To become more involved in our programs, contact Art Abramson at the Council office at bjcart@baltjc.org or 410-542-4850.
The Baltimore Jewish Council, as always, stands in solidarity with Israel in the aftermath of the confrontation that took place on May 31, 2010.
While there is much misinformation about the incident, we want to present you with as accurate a report as possible.
