The State of Israel’s safety, security and prosperity is of utmost importance to the Jewish community of Greater Baltimore. Our connection to Israel must remain strong and constant. It is the Baltimore Jewish Council’s role to find ways of educating, informing and raising awareness in the Jewish and general community about Israel. We also mobilize the community to take action for Israel when we need to engage our elected officials and others on the relevant political issues and policies.

The Government Relations Committee (GRC) is responsible for monitoring and adopting positions on federal, state and local legislation. It serves as a vehicle for developing public policy resolutions and positions. The GRC also engages in political activism on behalf of the organized Jewish community. The GRC meets several times each year to discuss public policy issues.  Each year the GRC hosts Advocacy Day in Annapolis, which gives our constituents the opportunity to lobby legislators on behalf of the Greater Baltimore Jewish community.

Monitor and adopt positions on federal, state and local legislation; develop public policy positions; advocate and lobby for public funds to enhance services, safety, and capital projects in the Jewish community
